Theatre Division - Visual and Performing Arts

The Purdue Theatre program offers state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, but people remain at the heart of our artistic endeavors. Students are able to develop close, cooperative relationships with faculty and staff in a nurturing and challenging artistic environment.  The study of theatre integrates the liberal arts into the creation of a shared theatrical event. Every play brings to the stage a collective of students and faculty toward the realization of dramatic works that shed light on our history, a means of sharing the present, and creating the future.

Purdue Theatre faculty are professional artists who work at major theatrical venues throughout the world. They share their experience in the classroom, on the stage, and one-on-one to prepare students for theatre professions, while encouraging them to be active contributors to the society in which they live and work.

Purdue Theatre offers the following degree programs:

Graduate Program:

Undergraduate Program:

Our Marquee and Horizon series consists of 6 shows each year. We commit one production every other semester to undergraduate actors. All other shows involve a mix of undergraduate, graduate and non-theatre major actors. All parts are chosen by open audition.

Our Theatre Workshop series provides additional opportunities. This year 6 productions were produced by our students.
