Election Jazz: Out of "Discordance"-Beauty

Saturday, October 30, 2004
Like jazz, many distinct and seemingly discordant pieces come together to form something beautiful in my mind, free thought. Here's some of the stuff that I've been reading about the upcoming election today. Reading when I should be writing.

GOP fails in effort to move polls in Philly where white folks were afraid to go to the polling places in the black neighborhoods because they thought that they would get "a knife in the back".

Not a huge fan of Eminem, but am digging his new Mosh video because he may actually be speaking from his own damn experience this time rather than misappropriating someone else's. It truly is a powerful piece. I'm down for voting, I've been half jokingly saying I wanna do it twice, but it looks like some folks are beating me to it.

Michael Moore wants to enlist you in his video army. Take video of any suspicious activities. See that guy running away with the ballot box? That's weird. Hell, 60,000 (ok 58,000) ballots are already missing in the F-state. Deja Vu? < sarcasm> But they did try to fix it < / sarcasm> Some folks think that Ohio (another swing state) may be bucking for the F-state's position of honor this year. If that doesn't work you can always pass out cigarettes like they do in prison. Oh yeah, there's even madness in my home state.

I want to know the fate of the next 4 years before I lay my head down on Tuesday/Wednesday, but that may not be the case. Justice Thomas doesn't want to have to get into it again, yeah right.

That should keep you busy for a while, I'm going back to work.
